Rahim Madhavji is the President of Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange Inc. (KnightsbridgeFX), a Canadian currency exchange company he founded in 2009 to help Canadians stop overpaying their banks on foreign exchange. Under his leadership, KnightsbridgeFX has grown from a one-man startup into one of Canada’s largest independent currency exchange providers, helping more than 150,000 individuals and businesses exchange over $20 billion.Before founding KnightsbridgeFX, Rahim worked at TorQuest Partners, a $550-million Canadian private equity fund, where he focused on leveraged buyouts and expansion capital investments. Prior to that, he worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions group of RBC Capital Markets’ Global Investment Banking division in Toronto. He holds an HBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University.
Rahim is one of Canada’s most frequently quoted voices on the Canadian dollar and currency markets. He appears regularly as a guest commentator on BNN Bloomberg and CTV News, and his analysis has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Reuters, Bloomberg, the Toronto Star, CBC, and the Financial Post. He is also a member of the Forbes Finance Council.
In 2019, Rahim pitched KnightsbridgeFX on CBC’s Dragons’ Den, where he received a $1-million on-air offer from Dragons Arlene Dickinson and Michele Romanow. During his tenure, the company has been repeatedly recognized among Canada’s fastest-growing companies, including The Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies (2019, 2021 and 2022), the Growth 500, and the Financial Times ranking of the Americas’ fastest-growing companies (2020).
