I am Rahim Madhavji, President of Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange Inc. When someone types our name and the word reviews into Google or ChatGPT, they usually land on a review site, a scraper, or a page we control. This page is the one we control, so I wrote it to send you to the ones we don't. Each number shows the date I read it, and each platform is linked so you can check the current figure yourself. Most clients compare us against RBC, TD, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank, or Wise before a first transfer, and this page makes that comparison easy. I update the figures at the beginning of each month.

If your question is whether we are legitimate rather than what clients say, read Is KnightsbridgeFX legit? Here is how to check for yourself, which covers our FINTRAC registration and what it does and does not mean.

Where can I read KnightsbridgeFX reviews?

Four places, all independent of us, plus Reddit, where r/PersonalFinanceCanada has several threads on us worth reading because nobody moderates them in our favor. Ratings and counts move every week, so treat this table as a snapshot with a date on it and open each link before you decide anything.

Trusted by Canadians, rated by clients: KnightsbridgeFX on Google and Trustpilot

We have held the Trustpilot profile since May 2019. Trustpilot marks each one as unprompted, meaning the client found the page and wrote without an invitation from us.

What do KnightsbridgeFX Google reviews say about each office?

We hold fifteen Google Business Profiles across Canada, one for each office. Five have public addresses and show in a Google search. The other ten serve clients by phone and online, so you will not find them by searching Google, but each has a live page, and I have linked them here.

All figures are as of October 1, 2026. The fifteen offices total 835 reviews on that date. Burnaby, Guelph, and Halifax have no reviews yet and are not shown.

Calgary currently has our lowest review rating. Several critical reviews relate to expectations around in-person cash exchange, a service we do not offer. KnightsbridgeFX does not exchange physical cash at any office. We complete all transactions by phone or online between bank accounts. We have since made this clearer on our profile. Clients who have completed trades through our Calgary office generally mention the same things clients mention elsewhere: competitive exchange rates, knowledgeable service, and funds arriving as expected. I explain how an exchange works without a counter in Do you need to visit a branch to exchange currency in Canada?

What do the positive reviews say?

I want you to read all of them, but I know you are busy. Read a hundred and three things come up again and again. The rate was better than the client's bank on the same day. The money arrived when we said it would, usually within two to five business days depending on how it was sent in. And when they called, someone on the trading floor picked up and knew what they were doing.

The live Google cards above are the current evidence. Two older testimonials follow, as clients wrote them. We kept them because we published them here with consent before review platforms existed.

Excellent service. Very pleased to deal with Knightsbridge. Would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

Ronald W., client testimonial

When I first used Knightsbridge, I was a bit hesitant because in the past I have always used a bank when exchanging money. However, after my first two transactions I realized the dollars I was saving by using this service and its security was just like that of a bank.

Why should you trust me?

Because the next section is our critical reviews, you should know who is talking. I founded KnightsbridgeFX in Toronto in 2009 after working at RBC Capital Markets and TorQuest Partners. CBC News asks me to explain the dollar on air, and in 2019 I pitched the company on Dragons' Den. None of that is a review, and I do not present it as one. It is the record you can check before you read the complaints below.

What do the critical reviews say?

Better Business Bureau A+ rating, Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange

They exist, and you should read them before you read the good ones. Our Better Business Bureau customer reviews average 4.41 out of 5 from 17 reviews, and the BBB complaints page is public. Both are linked here: BBB customer reviews and BBB complaints. You can also call us and ask for me by name. I take every client seriously.

Almost every critical review is one of three things. The account setup took longer than the client expected, usually because compliance was waiting on a document or an access code did not arrive. The transfer took longer than the client wanted, because a bill payment or electronic funds transfer takes several business days to reach us before we can convert it. Or a fee appeared that we did not charge, because the receiving bank charged it on the way in. That is what happens behind the scenes when a new client gets frustrated in the first week.

One more thing Google's summary raises: our rate is not published, and you have to ask. That is correct. Our markup is between 0.1 percent and 0.8 percent above the interbank rate depending on the amount, so the rate for $5,000 is not the rate for $250,000, and it moves through the day. We quote it live by phone or in your online account at app.knightsbridgefx.com before you commit. There is no App Store or Play Store app; the account runs in a browser on any device, and the phone desk is there for anyone who would rather talk to a person.

Another comes from an eight-year-old Reddit thread that still ranks for our name: different agents gave different answers, and a one-off problem took too long to settle. That was a fair complaint in 2018. If you hit it today, ask for a manager on the first call.

None of those is a reason to dismiss the review. Setup speed is ours to fix. The transfer timing and the receiving fee are the bank's, but explaining both clearly before you send anything is ours. Where a review is critical, read the reply beside it. We reply to critical reviews on Google, Trustpilot, and the BBB, and where we got it wrong, the reply says so.

If you have a problem with a transaction, call the desk first at 1-877-355-5239 and ask for a manager. Most calls people consider complaints are timing questions that one call can settle. If it is not settled, put it in writing so you have a record, then take it to the BBB. Clients in Quebec can also raise it with the Autorité des marchés financiers.

Why do some sites say KnightsbridgeFX is not regulated?

Because they are checking for the wrong license, Google's AI summary and several review sites say IIROC does not regulate us. That is true and it is also beside the point. IIROC, now called the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, oversees investment dealers, the firms that hold your securities and trade them for you. We do not hold anything for you and we do not trade securities.

Currency exchange businesses in Canada are regulated as money services businesses under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act. The regulator is FINTRAC. Our registration number is M09819788 and you can check it on the FINTRAC public registry. In Quebec, we also hold a license from the Autorité des marchés financiers. If a site says we hold no license from IIROC or the provincial securities commissions, it means it describes a license no currency exchange business in Canada needs, because none of them require one.

While your trade settles, a Canadian bank that is a CDIC member holds your funds. CDIC coverage protects deposits at that bank; it does not insure the exchange itself, and no currency exchange company in Canada can offer that. The practical protection is in how a trade works: your money moves bank account to bank account, and you can start at our $2,000 minimum before you send anything larger.

Is KnightsbridgeFX a forex broker?

No, and this matters because some review sites list us as one. Sites built to rate online trading platforms have created pages about KnightsbridgeFX with headings about scams, withdrawals, and trading risk. Those pages are automated. Nobody at those sites has traded with us, and their categories do not apply.

KnightsbridgeFX is a money services business. We convert money between six currencies: Canadian dollars, US dollars, British pounds, euros, Australian dollars, and New Zealand dollars, and send it from your bank account to the account you name. No trading account, no balance held with us, no leverage, no speculation, and nothing to withdraw. You send us one currency and receive the other. If a review site describes anything else, it is describing a different kind of company.

Why do review sites show different numbers?

Three reasons. Trustpilot runs a separate page for each country, and search engines sometimes cache an old one, so you may see a count that is months out of date. Google reviews are split across our offices, so no single profile shows the total. And aggregator sites copy a number once and rarely update it. That is why every figure on this page carries the date I read it, and why the links go to the live profiles rather than to a copy.

Do we pay for reviews or ask for them?

We do not pay for reviews and we do not offer anything in return for one. Trustpilot publishes how a company collects reviews on its transparency page, and ours shows every review as unprompted. If we begin inviting clients to review us after a trade, Trustpilot will show that too, and the invitation goes to every client, not a selected few.

How can I leave a KnightsbridgeFX review?

Pick the platform you already use. Write a Trustpilot review. Open the Toronto Google profile or the office you dealt with and choose Write a review. Leave a recommendation on Facebook. Or use the BBB customer review form. Say what happened, good or bad. A specific review, with the amount range and the time it took, helps the next reader more than five stars on their own.

What should I do before my first trade?

My suggestion: Get live quotes from all our competitors within a 15-minute window. Choose based on the final USD amount received, including any transfer or receiving-bank fees. Read reviews on platforms we do not control, including the critical ones and our replies. Call us for a quote on your actual amount, then call your bank and ask for theirs the same day. Then start with a smaller amount. Our minimum is $2,000, and you can test us at the minimum before moving the amount that matters. If you want to see how a trade works step by step, read how KnightsbridgeFX works.

Compare our rate to your bank before you send a dollar

Tell us the amount and the timing. We show you the rate with the markup in plain sight, then you call your bank and decide.

Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange Inc. is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business (registration M09819788) and is regulated by the Autorité des marchés financiers in Quebec.
