USD/CAD Open: 1.3630-1.3631 Overnight Range: 1.3568-1.3663
The Canadian dollar was rangebound in overnight currency exchange markets. Oil is at $44.67 and gold is at $1,286. US markets are lower. There are no releases scheduled for today’s session.

The Canadian dollar is little changed from the holiday period. Oil prices have stabilized around $45/barrel. Equities are lower, consistent with the way they ended 2018. The USD continues to trade around 18-month highs against the Canadian dollar. A softer year for the USD in 2019 is expected, due to several factors. There are no domestic releases scheduled for today.
Today’s Suggested Range USD/CAD: 1.3600 – 1.3700
